The float home community at Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria BC has 33 homes of varying sizes and vintages. The docks are part of the wharf that has been home to the local fishing fleet since 1948. There is often the nearby bustle of halibut, salmon or live crab being unloaded for the restaurant and commercial fish trade. |

A fish store on the docks sells very fresh fish and smoked and candied salmon and tuna. Two restaurants are open in the warmer months (from March) serving fish and chips and grilled treats and there is an ice cream store too. An art gallery featuring the work of a resident artist is located at the centre of the float home community. |
| The float homes are home to local residents from all walks of life who can easily bike or walk to work in nearby downtown. People living on float homes are teachers, artists, civil servants, university administrators, counselors, property agents, retirees and entrepreneurs who have lived in the float home village for up to twenty or more years. |
| summer visitors Expect colour and fun at Fisherman’s Wharf: in summer the float homes are covered with flower boxes and hanging baskets, there are often musicians on the docks and people feeding the resident seals. |
